Mechanical Design Services
CPD provides three-dimensional CAD mechanical design for product development. We also offer two-dimensional plans critical to function, as detailed drawings, or for fabrication.
3D Design
The design for 3D projects begins with a concept or idea. We then interpret the information and apply it to our CAD system. After development, the client can preview the product design and make modifications before fabrication and assembly.
2D Design
We supply fabrication drawings in 2D, so each of the parts can be manufactured based on the technologies needed. We can also provide detailed drawings to demonstrate how the parts are assembled, as well as the torque instructions.

Industrial Design
Working in partnership with CPD, the industrial design division manages concept development and can include basic ideas. We create sketches based on client specifications and develop concept models via Sketch or 3D renderings. These sketches allow us to illustrate to clients what we interpreted and to clarify what they want before mechanical design.
We work closely with our clients to create their products, and we can expand on their ideas. Our mechanical design ensures the product is sound based on its engineering. Not every project requires industrial design, but it is a remarkable tool when needed.

Prototyping
CPD is capable of providing small prototyping. We do a portion of the work in-house using our 3D printer. We also have a Stereolithography machine and Fuse Deposit Manufacturing machine, which expands our product development capability. CPD also interfaces with a network of partners that help set up and offer quotes for prototypes.
Your project can include proof of concept prototypes, which are basic models such as foam models for visuals to bring a concept to life. For example, the exterior shell can be created as a prototype for an investor, even if the interior is still under development. Features like lights and functional doors make the prototype look more authentic. Working prototypes prove the form, fit, and function of the product.
